Ingredients:
- 3 tablespoons cornmeal
- 6 cups flour
- 2 pkts. Yeast
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon rosemary
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- 2 cups milk
- ½ cup water
- 1 cup parmesan, grated
Instructions:
- Coat 2 loaf pans with butter and dust with corn meal.
- Make bread as is normal with 2 risings—add the cheese and spices AFTER the first rising.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons (each loaf) more cheese and bake for five more minutes.
Comments: You can substitute sliced green onions and cheddar cheese for the herbs and parmesan.
