Sesame Chicken on a Stick

| Servings: 15 appetizer servings, 4 servings as a luncheon

Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup soy
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ¼ teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons chopped sweet onion
  • 6-8 boneless skinless chicken thighs sliced into ¼ inch strips
  • 15 bamboo skewers
  • Rice for four if served as a meal
  • 3 tablespoons sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl combine the first 5 ingredients and stir well.
  2. Skewer the chicken slices onto the bamboo sticks and place into a zip lock bag. Pour the marinade into the bag and place in refrigerator for one hour (or overnight).
  3. Remove the chicken skewers from zip lock bag and discard the remaining marinade. Sprinkle the sesame seeds over the chicken and grill over a medium fire for four minutes per side (or until cooked through). Serve warm or at room temperature as an appetizer or with rice as a meal.

Notes

  1. You can also serve this as an appetizer hot, warm or at room temperature.
